Free international sports and TV
You can watch live sport events from around the world for free on your computer. You can also watch a number of television channels from around the world for free. Some channels require you to install a special player (they are free) to watch then. While other channels will work with Windows Media Player and will not require you to install anything.
Limitations of Internet TV
1. Most channels will take some time (seconds to minutes) to start playing correctly due to the need to buffer the system.
2. The quality varies from channel to channel and can be poor. However, there are lots of channels that have very good quality video and sound (some better than regular TV).
3. You can often find links to channels that do not work.
With all of the limitations above, remember it is FREE!
Sports
Internet TV is great for sport fans who would like to watch games not broadcast in their area. You can watch sport events from all over the US or internationally. For example you could watch a football game that is not televised in your area or a soccer match in europe. Lots of sports events require you to install a special player to watch them. Some of the most popular players are:
SopCast -- download (you will have to unzip the installer)
TVUPlayer -- download (you will have to unzip the installer)
TVAnts
(website not in english) -- download - download mirror
To find links (that will play in the above players) to current sport events visit MyP2P. Clicking the TV icon to the right of the sport event will take you to another page where you will find links to available streams. Clicking "Play" will launch the specified player (provided you have already installed it) and start the stream. If the "Software" specified is Windows Media Player, you will not have to install anything to watch. In my experience the video quality of Windows Media Player streams are often poor in comparison to streams designed for SopCast or other players. You may have to try several different streams to find one of good quality.
TV
All of the above players have a number of channels built into them. Additionally you can go to MyP2P LiveTV and view a number of world wide channels in Windows Media Player (you will have to allow the addition of the Windows Media add-on to Internet Explorer).
